Le Tricolore (18-21-9) a conclu sa cruciale semaine avec trois points sur une possibilité de six, grâce à une défaite en prolongation à Pittsburgh vendredi et à une victoire à Toronto samedi.

Résultat : les hommes de Randy Cunneyworth sont encore à huit points du 8e rang, détenu dimanche par les Capitals de Washington (25-19-3), qui ont un match en main sur le CH. En début de semaine, le Canadien était également à huit points de cette même 8e place, mais avait disputé un seul match de plus que ses fiduciaires, les Penguins de Pittsburgh.

« Le point de vendredi, c’est ce qui a fait mal », a dit Mathiee Darche.

« Quand tu es encore dans la même position au classement, ça peut-être frustrant, surtout quand tu laisses filer de points, quand tu en donnes à des équipes que tu pourchasses », a reconnu Erik Cole, lui aussi en parlant de la défaite de 5-4 en fusillade à Pittsburgh.

Les joueurs peuvent se rassurer. Leur seul affrontement de la semaine aura lieu contre une équipe de l’Ouest, les Red Wings de Détroit.

Constance recherchée

Les joueurs s’époumonent à le répéter : une place en séries pour le Canadien passe par la constance. Ça peut sembler répétitif, mais en regardant la fiche du Tricolore, on peut comprendre les joueurs d’y attacher une si grande importance.

Une seule fois, le Tricolore a aligné plus de deux victoires de suite. C’était une séquence de quatre triomphes, du 26 octobre au 4 novembre. Et c’était, curieusement, contre les équipes actuellement perchées en 2e place (les Bruins, deux fois), en 4e place (les Flyers) et en 5e place (les Sénateurs).

« On doit trouver une façon de coller des victoires, a soutenu Cole. On doit en gagner cinq sur six ou six sur sept pour voir une différence. Tu ne peux pas passer la saison à en gagner deux, en perdre trois, en gagner une, en perdre deux. »

La qualité inégale des performances, au-delà des résultats, semble également irriter les joueurs. Ce fut le cas après l’impressionnante victoire de 4-1 sur les Rangers de New York, dimanche, qui a été suivie par un gênant revers de 3-0 face aux Capitals de Washington.

« Ça fait une couple de fois qu’on joue un très bon match, et après, on s’en va en jouer un mauvais. C’est à nous d’en coller une couple en ligne », a conclu Darche.

“I get to sign boobs a lot. I get to bite boobs, occasionally, when I’m allowed,” Moyer, 41, says. “If my missus is there and she approves of the person I get to bite boobs…and necks.”

In the interview, Moyer also recalls the time he first realized his feelings for Paquin, 28 (who plays his love interest on the HBO vampire drama).

“I was intrigued by her. She was very open about work. But she was withdrawn [personally],” he says. “I was like, ‘Here I am; here’s everything I got.’ I remember leaving the screen test and thinking, ‘God, I’d like to spend more time with her.’”

Two months later, while filming the show’s the pilot, Moyer got his chance. “I remember getting back to London [after the pilot] and just going, ‘I have to keep speaking to this person,’” the actor says. “We began speaking every night on Skype for two or three hours.” Two years later, the couple tied the knot at a private residence in Malibu, Calif.

His love life aside, Moyer notes that unlike his costars Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Kwanten and Joe Manganiello, his body wasn’t always built for nude scenes.

“I’m an English boy. I played a lot of sports growing up, but I never had any kind of workout regimen,” he says. “My working out was with my right arm and it involved a pint glass.”

To get in shape, Moyer began working out with a trainer. “I find that I don’t go at it if I don’t have someone making me. You’d be amazed at how quickly I let it all go,” he tells the mag. “I think half of what a trainer does is make you feel shame if you don’t show up.”

Still, Moyer points out that there are perks to having a ripped physique. “I didn’t want my kids to look back at the show in 20 years’ time and go, ‘Who’s that slobby git? Oh, it’s you, Dad.’”

On connaît maintenant le trajet qu’effectuera le couple princier qui arrivera au Canada le 30 juin.

C’est dans la capitale canadienne que commencera le voyage. Ils y verront le Monument commémoratif de guerre, le Musée canadien des civilisations et quelques bâtiments gouvernementaux. Ils seront aussi présents à la colline du Parlement pour les célébrations de la fête du Canada.

Le couple se dirigera ensuite à Montréal où il rencontrera des enfants malades à l’Hôpital Sainte-Justine. À bord du NCSM Montréal, les époux se rendront au prochain arrêt, la ville de Québec, pour assister à des cérémonies militaires et faire une visite de la Citadelle.

Le prince William et son épouse sont ensuite attendus à Charlottetown, à l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Ils passeront un peu moins de 24 heures à l’Île, mais leur horaire sera chargé. La seule activité au cours de laquelle le public pourra les côtoyer sera un bain de foule au centre-ville de Charlottetown.

Prochaine étape, la résidence Dalvay-by-the-Sea, dans le Parc national de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. William y participera à un exercice d’urgence en hélicoptère. Plus tard, le duc et la duchesse de Cambridge s’affronteront dans une course de bateaux-dragons. Aucune activité liée directement à Anne la maison aux pignons verts n’est à l’horaire.

À Summerside, le couple assistera à un exercice de sauvetage maritime, avant de prendre l’avion en direction des Territoires-du-Nord-Ouest où on leur réserve plusieurs activités en nature et une démonstration de sports traditionnels de l’Arctique.

Le dernier arrêt canadien du couple royal sera Calgary, pour faire une dernière rencontre avec le premier ministre Harper et lancer le défilé du Calgary Stampede avant leur départ.
